Apart from discussing efficient applications, the most time-saving method is to use the keyboard more, especially the win key (for Windows users).

Taskbar Search#

The search box in the lower left corner of the taskbar can be used to search and open local applications and services, as well as to be used as an internet search engine. You can also use the win key + type text to directly use this function.

Usage:
Press the win key, then type directly using the keyboard, the content can be

• A partial name of a software: such as 微 (WeChat), wx (WeChat), 微信 (WeChat), then the corresponding local program and web search suggestions will appear. Press Enter to open WeChat.
• A service: such as 控制 (Control), 控制面板 (Control Panel), kzmb, then the corresponding service and web search suggestions will appear. No need to worry about finding specific locations for services anymore.
• A search: such as 平凡之路 (The Ordinary Road), then web search recommendations will appear.

This way, you can speed up the process of opening commonly used software and services.
You no longer need to open a new page and then click on the search box to enter a search query. Just use the win key to simplify the first two steps.

Browser Quick Search#

The current mainstream browsers are Edge and Chrome. I use them to browse the web. If I want to search for a concept or question, I need to open a new webpage and then search, which is quite troublesome.

Here is a method to search within the original page.

1. Press Ctrl + E to open the address bar quick search;
2. Enter the question you want to search;
3. Press Alt + Enter to open the search content in a new tab.

If you directly use Enter in step 3, the current page will be refreshed.
